Oranges are Green

The first thing you would think someone would eat in Mexico would be a taco or some sort of Mexican food right? Yeah no. The first thing I ate here in Mexico was Subway. How American can you get? No worries it got better.

Day 1 in the Apartment:
-The WHOLE Bathroom is blue, including the toilet
-Everyone is really Friendly
-People Randomly play music on the streets
-EVERYONE Honks their horn (even if its in the middle of the night)
-Oranges are GREEN- They taste weird too...
-Mexico is cold and it rains a lot, BUT the City is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

Friday we Finally had tacos. FINALLY. We also went to this really yummy restaurant that is supposed to feed us everyday and OH MY GOSH. They just kept bringing us out food. It was all sooo Amazing. I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD.

We also made lots of friends with people on the street.
There is this store that is just down the street from where we live and the nicest man runs it. His name is Martin. He talks to us about dancing and naming the dogs on the streets and just random things like that. There was one morning he tried to convince us that Alcohol was good for the organs and that we should go out and party. Hahaha. It was great. The people here are SO nice. :)

Then there is this lady that lives just up the street from us, her name is Berta. She can't be more than 4 feet tall, but she is seriously the sweetest lady- She is the lady on the far right in the pink sweater. She invited us into her home and told us we could come over any time we wanted. :)

I finally got me some HORCHATA. Literally the best drink EVER. We also had these really yummy stuffed pocket things called Pastes. If Pizza Pockets were actually good then Pastes would be the Gourmet version. THEY ARE SO GOOD. I would have posted a picture of them, BUT it was literally gone in point 2.
The food down here is seriously Amazing. I could live down here just for the food.

This is my Humble Abode, well the outside at least. The inside is old and vintage like, and super cute. The place really is perfect, I couldn't have asked for anything better. :)

There was so many things that happened this week and it just makes me extremely excited for the future weeks to come. Monday is when the real work begins- we go to the school at 7:45 and meet all the little ninos! I'm beyond excited and can't wait. This is exactly what I've been waiting for and Tomorrow it is finally here!

MEXICO!!

That's right. I'm finally here.
I was going to post something the other day, but when you save all your packing and last minute training to the last three days you are in the States, then you really don't have time to make a blog post.... So I am in Mexico making this ridiculous post to share.

The day I quit both my jobs I got this really cool Chinese fortune- Which is really cool because its my first fortune that has actually come true!
Anyway Life in Mexico has already been really interesting. I have currently been here for about 5 hours and I already love it! Everything is so colorful and the people are so nice and the food is going to be AMAZING and I could add a million ands- the list would just keep going.
Also, another thing to add about Mexico is that you don't really have internet. Yes I said it. In fact I went a whole 24 hours with out internet, so I will hear no judgmental words. But the fact is, you literally have to enjoy the moment as is. So instead of wasting time on Instagram or Facebook, you walk down the street like a normal person, enjoying the air you breathe. It's actually a nice change. I mean yeah you are still walking down the street taking pictures, but I feel like that is also something a normal foreigner would do.

So thats that. That is my first day in Mexico and it was everything PLUS amazing! I couldn't have asked to be anywhere else. :)
I'm sure there will be much more to come, I mean it is Mexico and I have never before traveled outside the country until today. So adventures HERE I COME.

Two Decades

Wait what? Two Decades?! Yup. That's right. The BIG 20. I'm 20.

In a short 4 days I will be TWO DECADES. CRAZY Right?! I'm still in Shock. I have to keep repeating it to myself... I. Am. 20. Its very strange to think about. I mean as I look back and see all the 'Big Moments' in life, all I can think is WOW. I have been alive long enough for that? I mean yeah I'm only 20 and have so much more to go in life- but its the simple fact that I have been ALIVE for THAT LONG. I'm sure in another Decade I will say the same thing.... But that's a decade away...
I'm READY for adventures! I'm READY to explore! I'm READY for another decade :)
So here's to being 20!
Happy Birthday to Me! :)

P.S. In exactly 1 week 3 days 14 hours 46 minutes 35 seconds I will be leaving for Mexico!
Dang. I'd say that is one great Birthday Headed my way ;)
